Curriculum and Professional Development Specialist at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy
Liz Martinez is a Curriculum and Professional Development Specialist at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA). She writes new STEM curricula for the State of Illinois and provides professional development to classroom teachers. Liz holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Science from National College of Education and Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University. Ms. Martinez taught middle school science for 30 years in multiple socioeconomic and academic settings, has held several association board seats, and has partnered with both University and corporate science leaders on a variety of educational projects. She has shared her passion for quality science education with her students and their families, the education community, and through various publications.
