Group Leader and Distinguished Fellow at Argonne National Laboratory
Dr. Wang is the manager of the Systems Assessment Group in the Energy Systems Division and a Distinguished Fellow at Argonne National Laboratory, a national science and engineering research laboratory operated by the University of Chicago for the U.S. Department of Energy. Among many science and engineering disciplines, Argonne explores the energy, environmental, and economic impacts associated with advanced vehicle technologies and new transportation fuels. During his tenure at Argonne, Dr. Wang and his staff have analyzed and evaluated the sustainability and marketability of advanced vehicle technologies — including advanced vehicle engines, battery electric vehicles, and fuel-cell electric vehicles — and new transportation fuels in the United States and globally. Governmental agencies in North America, Asia, and Europe have used Dr. Wang’s research to develop vehicle and fuel policies, such as low-carbon fuel and vehicle greenhouse gas emission regulations. Companies pursuing environmentally sustainable vehicle technologies and fuels also rely on the research conducted by Dr. Wang and his team.
