Ms. Rivera is a Wellness Counselor at The Liberal Arts and Science Academy (LASA) in Austin, Texas, and a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice.
Over the course of her career, Ms. Rivera has counseled teens in schools, residential treatment centers, and group home settings. She specializes in social-emotional learning, grief, and loss, supporting LGBTQ+ students, multicultural issues, and animal-assisted therapy.
In 2016, Ms. Rivera was the co-creator of Austin Independent School District’s first Mindfulness for Athletes program, which she piloted within the Athletics Department at LASA/LBJ High school.
Ms. Rivera is an Executive Board Member of the Austin Interpersonal Neurobiology Connection. Ms. RIvera has a B.A. in Psychology and Cognitive Science from Rice University and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from St. Edward’s University.
